Wacom puts out Wireless Intuos4 tablet

Wacom unveiled its first completely wireless pen tablet - the Intuos4 PTK540WL. Designed for creative professionals, this ambidextrous, medium-sized tablet delivers the flexibility of a wireless work environment.

According to Wacom, the new Bluetooth Intuos4 will communicate reliably over distances of up to 10 metres and will allow users to move about the room and work “unattached” from a computer

The Intuos4 Wireless connects to Bluetooth-enabled computers including those that are enabled with external Bluetooth USB adapters and also conveniently charges through USB and continues to work while charging. A lithium-ion battery keeps it running for up to 18 hours of semi-active use.

As a tablet, the Wireless provides 40 square inches of working area and a stylus with 2,048 levels of pressure. Wacom specifically caters to Mac users with labeled Command and Option key shortcuts, but all users have shortcuts to all eight keys as well as a touch ring that handles up to four different programmable commands per app.

The new Intuos4 is available to order now for R4599.00 incl Vat but you can get it on promotion at WebAntics.co.za for R4321.51 incl Vat (and if you willing to wait….including shipping too!)

Billion have released the 3100SN Wireless-N Wall Plug Access Point in South Africa, featuring extended wireless coverage of six times the speed and three times the range of 802.11g products.

How to Make an iPhone Ringtone

So you’ve had your fancy new iPhone for a couple of weeks now. You love the phone and all its features, but wish you could add a little bit of personality and get your own ringtone. Go with ‘Gold’ For Protection of Privacy

Gold is in, but a gold privacy filter is largely unheard of in South Africa - but the 3M Gold Netbook and Laptop Privacy Filters show a reflective golden screen when viewed from the side. Having listened to their customers’ complaints about previous 3M filters being too dark and obscuring visibility, the new gold privacy screen has a glossy surface that improves the viewing of text and images without having users resort to turning up their laptop’s brightness level to the maximum.

3M Privacy Filters are excellent for open, high traffic environments where on-screen data needs to be kept secure. The filters work like tiny vertical blinds to block information, from a side view, unlike other privacy filters which just blur information, but could still allow information to be read. A data privacy solution ideal for laptops and LCD monitors in any exposed environment. The unique attachment system means the privacy filter can remain inside the laptop even when closed. Easily removable to allow screen sharing when privacy is not required.

Available already at WebAntics.co.za, the filters are priced from R571.76 to R1,305.98

ASUS G73JH-X1 gaming laptop blasting through SA

ASUS introduced its G73JH-TZ008Z gaming laptop right at the start of this year, but unfortunately getting it locally as been as difficult as finding a Bafana Bafana soccer jersey with a Protea logo. That’s now changed however, as the laptop will be arriving at the beggining of June in bigger shipments and is already available right now for advance orders (at WebAntics.co.za, at least) for the not-so-crazy price of R20,541.59 incl. That will get you a 17.3″ HD 1920×1080 display, a Core i7 1.6Hz Quad Processor, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, 2 x 500GB hard drives, 1GB of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 graphics, and a Blu-Ray ROM/DVD-RW Drive, among other more standard offerings — all in a suitably awe-inspiring, 3.85 kg package. All this plus the Asus Gaming Backpack, Gaming Mouse & Asus Headset, and we’d say you’re pretty good-to-go! See the promo video here

iPhone OS 4 unveiled, released later this year

I’m really interested to see the new iPhone OS 4 when it is released later this year. The next generation of the world’s most innovative mobile operating system is expected to have more than 100 new user features. And what in the past has been a negative for Apple iPhone users – the inability to multitask with applications – looks to have been solved with iPhone OS 4.

However, if you are one of those First Generation iPhone owners, you’re not going to be getting the multitask function. The majority of changes will only be usable for owners of an Apple iPhone 3GS, Third Generation iPod Touch. Keep watching this space and we’ll let you know more info as we get it

How to Shorten the Length of Your URL and Make It Twitter Friendly

I’ve been battling with this for a couple of days now. How are you suppossed to tweet fantastic new deals and also include a link to the product page?? All too often the web addresses are SUPER LONG which become impossible to use in Twitter with a 140 character limit. So I did a little ’googling’ and found a great little website that makes it oh so easy. Follow the easy steps below to shorten the length of your URL and still provide a correct link to your content:

1) Visit www.tinyurl.com
2) Enter your long web address in the required field and press “Make Tiny Url”
3) Tinyurl spits out a really nice and short web address that you can simply copy and paste into anything you want!

Told you it was easy!
