Nike and TomTom have announced the launch of a new range of Nike+ Sportwatch models with a new colour combinations. The original Sportwatch users and those using the new version of the watch will be able to access NikeFuel. Nike says that this is intelligent measuring system for athletic ability.
NikeFuel allows users to compare their performance against that of other athletes in the same sport and share achievements with friends. Nike chose the colours of the new version of the watch to match its line of apparel and shoes. The colours include Black/anthracite, anthracite/blue glow, and high-impact Black/Volt.
Combining Nike’s understanding of the athlete with the GPS expertise of TomTom, Nike+ SportWatch GPS is a game changer for runners. Nike+ SportWatch GPS powered by TomTom uses both GPS technology and the Nike+ shoe sensor to capture every step of your run. Runners can then upload their data to the nikeplus.com website, where new mapping features allow them to see their runs and find popular routes, track their goals, receive coaching tips, challenge friends, and share their progress through Facebook and Twitter.
“Our extended range of products will be very useful to those adding running into their exercise regime. And the new NikeFuel measurement brings added motivation, allowing people to share and compare their performance with friends in other sports,” says Corinne Vigreux, Managing Director, from TomTom.
We love the fact that the Nike+ SportWatch GPS is comfortable enough to wear every day. Many sport watches are too bulky, or too fiddly and Nike have cracked that nut. Some more serious runners might find that they want more control locally over their device, or that they want workouts they can add, and if that’s the case you’ll need to look elsewhere.
The TomTom Nike+ SportWatch GPS includes a Shoe Sensor and has a RRP of R1,899.00 Incl VAT. However if you purchase it online at WebAntics Online, it is available now for R1,849.95 and they have all 3 colour versions available
